Lazio Working Diligently With PSG to Agree on Deal for Goalkeeper Sergio Rico

Lazio have convinced Maurizio Sarri that Paris Saint-Germain’s Sergio Rico is a strong option and talks are heating up.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the Biancocelesti are set to lose goalkeepers Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina at the end of the season, when both their contracts expire with the club.

Due to this, Lazio are already working hard to try and secure a new number one. Sporting director Igli Tare is a big fan of Rico, who is currently on loan at RCD Mallorca. Contracted to PSG until 2024, the Biancocelesti are now in talks with the French side.

These talks are reportedly going well and the hope is that a deal can be reached in the coming weeks, allowing Lazio to focus on other targets instead.

Rico joined Mallorca in a six-month loan deal from PSG in last month’s transfer window, having only made one Ligue 1 appearance in the first half of this campaign.
