Cataldi at Risk of Missing Lazio vs Napoli Due to Painful Muscle Injury

Danilo Cataldi is in doubt for Lazio’s upcoming Serie A match against Napoli due to a muscle injury.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian midfielder was one of the bright spots in the Biancocelesti’s 2-2 draw against Porto on Thursday, but he suffered some physical problems after the match, a worrying sign for the Roman club.

Cataldi reportedly pulled a hamstring, putting him in doubt for Lazio’s match against Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico tomorrow. Coach Maurizio Sarri will now have to decide whether he’ll risk the Italian midfielder for the tough clash or simply start Lucas Leiva instead.

The 27-year-old Cataldi, who is contracted to the Biancocelesti until 2024, has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1698 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided three assists, growing substantially under Sarri and replacing Leiva in the starting lineup.
