Lazio’s main goal now with 12 games remaining is to secure some form of European qualification.

As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, coach Maurizio Sarri has drilled in the importance of staying focused in the final stages of this season, as they want to achieve qualification to either the Europa League or the Champions League.

To achieve European qualification would mean Lazio taking part in a continental competition for the sixth consecutive season, an impressive feat considering the low amount invested into the club by president Claudio Lotito.

The dream is to finish in the top four, and that journey starts with this evening’s match against Napoli. A win for the Partenopei would take them top of the league table, so the Biancocelesti will have to be in top form to secure all three points at the Stadio Olimpico this evening.

Achieving European qualification also has important ramifications for the upcoming summer transfer market, as it allows for bigger investments and makes the club a more attractive destination.
