Danilo Cataldi will undergo a key round of medical tests today and Lazio fear a significant absence.
As reported by Italian newspaper La Repubblica (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 27-year-old Italian midfielder was forced to miss out on yesterday’s 2-1 loss to Napoli due to a flexor problem suffered after the draw with Porto last week.
Cataldi will undergo tests today at the Paideia clinic in Rome to determine the extent of his injury and Lazio are concerned that he might be out for a number of weeks, fearing a first-degree strain. Updates are expected tomorrow or later this week, and there’s a chance he could miss the next match against Cagliari.
The 27-year-old Cataldi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2024, has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1698 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided three assists, growing into an important player under coach Maurizio Sarri.
