Lazio Primavera Suffer Painful 1-0 Defeat to Reggina After Missing Penalty

Lazio Primavera suffered a very painful 1-0 defeat to Reggina on the weekend, conceding a late winner.

As reported by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the Biancocelesti dominated the match at the Stadio Mirko Fersini yesterday but they could not convert this to an advantage.

Valerio Crespi missed a penalty in the 31st minute of the match, failing to put Lazio ahead after the Reggina goalkeeper saved his attempt, leaving the teenager dejected.

This would come back to bit Alessandro Calori’s team in the 83rd minute as Gabriele Carlucci netted a late winner, securing all three points for Reggina Primavera.

Lazio Primavera still sit top of the Primavera 2 table after 17 games with 38 points, one ahead of second place Cesena, who have a game in hand.

Their next match is against second place Cesena this weekend, a key game if the Biancocelesti want to secure promotion back to the topflight again this season.
