Pedro’s Physical Condition Is Lazio’s Main Concern Ahead of Cagliari Clash

Pedro’s condition is Lazio’s biggest issue heading into Saturday’s match against Cagliari and the club are monitoring him closely.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24) earlier today, the 34-year-old Spanish winger missed Tuesday’s training session in Formello and only trained in the afternoon session yesterday, missing the morning work.

Today and tomorrow’s training sessions will be decisive but there’s a chance that Pedro will not start for Lazio on the weekend, with Mattia Zaccagni and Felipe Anderson starting on the wings. The Spaniard would then be able to come on as a substitute in the second half.

Pedro suffered a tibial inflammation in the 1-1 draw with Udinese and he only appeared off the bench in the 2-1 loss to Napoli, where he scored a lovely late goal.

The 34-year-old Pedro, who is contracted to Lazio until June 2023, has made 35 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2335 minutes. In that time, he’s scored nine goals and provided five assists.
