Lazio star Ciro Immobile matched Silvio Piola’s Serie A goal record with the club in yesterday’s 3-0 win over Cagliari.
As highlighted by Italian media outlet LazioNews24 earlier today, the 32-year-old Italian striker scored his 143rd league goal with the Biancocelesti in the first half of the win at the Unipol Domus yesterday, matching Piola’s record.
Immobile did it in less time than Piola, however; the 32-year-old Italian netted 143 goals in 200 Serie A appearances, a little better than Piola’s 143 goals in 227 league appearances.

The Lazio star also became the third player to ever score 20 or more Serie A goals in six different seasons, joining Giuseppe Meazza and Gunnar Nordahl (seven times) in an exclusive club.
The 32-year-old Immobile has made 32 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2636 minutes. In that time, he’s scored 25 goals and provided four assists, continuing to be the talisman in Maurizio Sarri’s squad.
