Leiva was in a slump last season under Simone Inzaghi but he’s slowly managed to turn things around under Sarri, re-finding some form whilst Danilo Cataldi is sidelined with injury.

Radu’s initial issues were tactical; Sarri believed that he could only play as a centre-back, but he’s since discovered that the Romanian veteran can still give a lot as a full back as well.

Both Leiva and Radu’s contracts expire with the club at the end of the season. The Romanian will certainly receive a one-year renewal and the same could now be offered to the former Liverpool man as well.
