Lazio Planning a Number of Tributes to Ex-Captain Wilson in Match vs Venezia

Lazio are planning to celebrate the memory of former captain Pino Wilson in their upcoming match against Venezia.

Wilson, who was the captain of the Biancocelesti squad in their successful Scudetto run in the 1973/74 season, sadly passed away on the morning of 6th March at the age of 76. A number of figures in the Lazio world posted tributes to the former defender, remembering him fondly.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio want to celebrate Wilson’s memory in their game against Venezia and so they’ve planned a number of different things that will pay tribute to the former captain.

Ex-Lazio Captain Pino Wilson Passes Away Aged 76

Ciro Immobile will wear a red captain’s armband and the Roman club will invite the remaining 1974 champions to watch the game, from Giancarlo Oddi and Luigi Martini to Vincenzo D’Amico and Franco Tripodi. Wilson’s partner Daniela and their children James and Gilda will also be present.

Before kick-off there will be a minute’s silence, with black and white images of the captain being shown on the big screens at the Stadio Olimpico.
