Lazio are ready to permanently sign Mattia Zaccagni from Hellas Verona but they’ll have to keep a wary eye on Juventus.
The 26-year-old Italian midfielder joined the Biancocelesti on transfer deadline day last summer on a loan deal with a conditional obligation to buy clause attached. The Roman club have been firmly impressed with the player after a slow start and now they want to make his stay permanent.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are preparing to fully finalise Zaccagni’s move and are ready to pay Hellas Verona €7 million, but they cannot ignore the interested Juventus.
The Bianconeri have been following the player for a while now and they’ve recently made enquiries with his entourage, which could pose a significant problem for the Biancocelesti in the future.
Zaccagni has made 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season for Lazio. In that time, he’s scored five goals and provided seven assists.
