Lazio’s Recent Form Makes Champions League No Longer Just a Dream

Lazio’s recent form suggests that aiming for Champions League qualification is no longer a pipe dream.

The Biancocelesti have started 2022 incredibly well, finally managing to apply the movements and ideas imprinted by Maurizio Sarri over the last few months. Whilst the campaign started a little slow back in August, things are now moving fast in the Italian capital.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), looking at the last 20 league games Lazio would be fourth with 35 points, tied with Scudetto hopefuls Napoli.

In the last eight games, the Biancocelesti have the best goal difference in Serie A with +12, the best defence as they’ve only conceded three goals and they’re only behind Juventus in terms of points won – 17 for Lazio and 18 for the Bianconeri.

There is still a genuine chance that Lazio could qualify for the Champions League this season by finishing in fourth place, but the team would not be able to put a foot wrong in the final nine games of the campaign.

  1. One game at a time, lets focus on 3 points vs Roma this weekend! Pedro to get the start I would imagine at LW. I know we have goals in us but will need the D to play big and shut out Roma.
