Cataldi Working to Be Fit in Time for Lazio’s Upcoming Derby vs Roma

Danilo Cataldi may be fit in time for Lazio’s upcoming Derby della Capitale against Roma.

The 27-year-old Italian midfielder suffered from a left flexor strain after the 2-2 draw with Porto on 24th February, which has kept him on the sidelines for the last three weeks or so. He missed the last three league outings, with Lucas Leiva filling in his place.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Cataldi has mostly recovered from the issue and could be on the Lazio bench in the derby against Roma. This would give Maurizio Sarri the option to rotate Lucas Leiva if need be.

The Italian midfielder is a fan of the Derby della Capitale, being from Rome and growing up in the Biancocelesti’s youth system.

Cataldi has made 33 appearance across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1698 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided three assists, growing significantly under Sarri.
