Luiz Felipe is eagerly awaiting a call from Italy coach Roberto Mancini as he hopes for a spot in the squad.
The 24-year-old Italian-Brazilian defender was handed his first Azzurri call-up by the former Manchester City and Inter coach back in January, taking part in training sessions at Coverciano. He has spent his entire professional career in the Italian peninsula with Lazio and Salernitana.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Mancini is set to announce his Azzurri squad for the upcoming World Cup play-offs later today and Luiz Felipe is desperate to be included, fired up following his recent call-up to Coverciano.
Atalanta defender Rafael Toloi suffered an injury in the win over Bayer Leverkusen so there should be a spot for the Lazio defender, who is set to leave the Roman club at the end of the season when his contract expires.
Luiz Felipe made two appearances for the Brazilian Under-23 squad back in 2019, but he has never been handed a call-up to the Seleção.
