Lazio Star Immobile Set for Azzurri Retirement Following Failure to Reach World Cup

Ciro Immobile is set to retire from the Italian national team following last night’s disastrous loss to North Macedonia.

The reigning European champions failed to take advantage of their control in yesterday’s World Cup play-off against North Macedonia and their inability to find the back of the net came back to haunt them in the dying minutes of the match, when Aleksandar Trajkovski scraped home a winner.

Behind him would be Torino’s Andrea Belotti and fellow Sassuolo starlet Gianluca Raspadori. On the right side of the front three Nicolo Zaniolo will finally get a chance to impress, whilst Lazio’s Mattia Zaccagni will be looking to fight for a starting spot on the left. Federico Chiesa will play on both sides and is irreplaceable.
