Lazio’s Immobile Ready to Retire From International Duty With the Azzurri

Ciro Immobile is ready to say goodbye to the Italian national team due to the constant criticisms he receives.

The 32-year-old Italian striker has become somewhat of a scapegoat following the Azzurri’s disastrous 1-0 loss to North Macedonia on Thursday, a result which seems them fail to qualify for their second consecutive World Cup.

The Lazio star, who trains in Coverciano in a state of perennial anxiety, is tired of the excessive attacks on him and he’s ready to give up his role in the national team in order to fully focus on his work with the Biancocelesti.

It’s unclear when Immobile will decide to officially announce his international retirement, but it’s expected to come at some point in the coming months.
