Lazio duo Ciro Immobile and Luiz Felipe have withdrawn from the Azzurri training camp ahead of the friendly against Turkey.
The former couldn’t make the difference in Italy’s World Cup play-off against North Macedonia on Thursday, allowing them to scrape a late winner to knock the Azzurri out of contention. The latter was called up but was not included for the squad, forcing him to remain on the sidelines as Italy missed out on another World Cup.
As highlighted by LazioNews24, both Immobile and Luiz Felipe have withdrawn from Coverciano and returned to Lazio’s training ground in Formello. Neither player will feature in the upcoming friendly match against Turkey on Tuesday evening.
Domenico Berardi, Gianluca Mancini, Lorenzo Insigne and Jorginho also withdrew, suggesting that some changes may be on the way in the Azzurri environment. Current rumours suggest that Immobile will return from the national team due to the heavy criticisms he receives regularly.
