Juventus Closely Monitoring Lazio’s Luis Alberto After New Tensions With Sarri

Juventus are keeping a close eye on Luis Alberto, whose tumultuous relationship with Maurizio Sarri continues to stay tense.

The relationship between the Spanish midfielder and the Italian coach has been a real rollercoaster this season, full of constant ups and downs. Things have heated up in recent weeks though, and a departure in the summer cannot be ruled for the former Liverpool man.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via Calciomercato), the latest source of tension between Luis Alberto and Sarri starts from when he was brought off in the 1-0 over Venezia earlier this month, something he didn’t appreciate.

Things exacerbated following the disastrous 3-0 Derby della Capitale defeat to intercity rivals Roma, where the Spaniard had a poor match. Things have likely cooled off over the international break, but it’s a sign that the pair do not have the smoothest relationship nonetheless.

In the background, Juventus are closely monitoring Luis Alberto’s situation. His contract expires with Lazio in 2025 and Claudio Lotito would only listen to offers starting from €40 million, making a deal hard to come by.

The Bianconeri are keen to add the Spaniard to their squad though and they could look to include a young talent like Nicolo Rovella in a possible deal in order to lower the costs a little, although given Lotito’s history a deal of this type seems unlikely.

Updates are expected over the next few weeks, but for now it’s clear that Juventus are seriously interested in Luis Alberto.
