Record Appearance Holder Radu on Verge of Renewing Lazio Contract

Stefan Radu’s contract expires with Lazio at the end of the season but the club’s all-time appearance record holder won’t be going anywhere.

The 35-year-old Romanian defender has only featured lightly under Maurizio Sarri this season, making 10 appearances across all competitions for a total of 612 minutes. He has still managed to prove himself on the pitch, although a heel problem is continuing to frustrate him.

This means that the Romanian will be entering his 15th season with the Biancocelesti in the summer, an incredible sign of loyalty that’s rare in the modern game.

Radu has made 422 appearances across all competitions during his 14 years with Lazio, setting the club’s appearance record. Behind him is previous holder Giuseppe Favalli, who made 401 appearances for the club during his 12 years in Rome.
