Mattia Zaccagni made his Azzurri debut in last night’s 3-1 friendly win over Turkey, where he had a decent game.
The 26-year-old Italian winger finally managed to earn his first cap for the national team in last night’s friendly, taking Nicolo Zaniolo’s place in the second half of the match. His strong performances under Maurizio Sarri this season have seem him rightly earn a place in the squad.
As noted by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Zaccagni performed sufficiently in last night’s friendly win, playing better on the left than the right. The Lazio winger showed signs of potential and could still carve out a place in the Azzurri squad for himself.
He was given a 6 rating for his performance, a sign that the former Hellas Verona man made a good impression in front of coach Roberto Mancini, who recently confirmed his intentions to stay with the Azzurri for the foreseeable future.
