Lazio’s management board will meet today to discuss their financial report ahead of president Claudio Lotito’s meeting with Maurizio Sarri.
The Biancocelesti president is keen to tie the 63-year-old Italian coach down to a longer deal, removing a clause that allows him to be freed should a foreign club come calling. He wants to kickstart a new cycle in Rome and so doesn’t want to lose Sarri at the end of next season.
As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio’s management board will meet today for the consolidated half-yearly financial report, running from June to December 2021.
Following this meeting, Lotito will pencil in a meeting with Sarri in order to discuss his contract renewal, something that has fallen by the wayside since December. The Lazio coach’s biggest concerns relate to the transfer market, so some guarantees in the meeting could be enough to seal the deal.
