Lazio’s big question ahead of their upcoming clash against Sassuolo surrounds Luiz Felipe, whose availability is currently in doubt.
The 25-year-old Italian-Brazilian defender was called up by Roberto Mancini for the Azzurri’s disastrous World Cup play-off run but he failed to play a single minute. He withdrew from Coverciano following the loss to North Macedonia.
As reported by Italian newspaper Il Tempo (via LazioNews24), Luiz Felipe is now in doubt for Lazio’s match against Sassuolo due to a knee injury. He began a recovery cycle on Tuesday, splitting his time between the gym and the swimming pool.
Luiz Felipe, who seems destined to join Real Betis on a free transfer at the end of this season, has made 36 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 3227 minutes. In that time, he’s helped the side keep 11 clean sheets.
