Adam Marusic’s contract renewal with Lazio was officially confirmed in their financial report ending December 2021.
The 29-year-old Montenegrin full back entered this season with only one year left on his contract but it quickly became apparent that he’d be a useful and reliable option for Maurizio Sarri, with his tactical flexibility proving valuable. The defence will be overhauled in the summer, so it’s important the club tie down those who will remain.
As highlighted by LazioNews24, Lazio’s financial reports ending December 2021 confirmed that Marusic had renewed his contract with the club until 2024. This is good news for Sarri, who can continue to count on the Montenegrin’s flexibility for the next few seasons.
The 29-year-old Marusic, who joined the Biancocelesti in 2017 from KV Oostende, has made 33 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 2675 minutes. In that time, he’s played on both the left and right sides of the back four, looking calm and confident in Sarri’s system.
