Lazio are in pole position in the race to sign unhappy Everton midfielder Allan.
Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri remembers the Brazilian well from their time together with Napoli, where he was a core part of that electric Azzurri squad. The Roman club are preparing to overhaul their squad in the summer and some touch ups are needed in midfield as well.
As reported by English tabloid The Sun (via LazioNews24), Allan is not having a great season with Everton and is preparing for a departure in the summer, where Lazio lead the charge in the race to secure his signature.
The 31-year-old’s contract expires with the Toffees in 2023 and so it’s likely that he could be signed on a fairly low-cost deal. He is one of Sarri’s favourite players and could play an important role as the project develops in Rome.
Allan has made 23 Premier League appearances so far this season, for a total of 1938 minutes. In that time, he’s provided two assists.
