Sergio Conceicao and Gennaro Gattuso have been proposed to Lazio as possible replacements for Maurizio Sarri, should he leave in the summer.
The 63-year-old Italian coach will meet with president Claudio Lotito later this week in order to discuss the upcoming summer transfer window and the status of his contract renewal with the club. His current deal expires in 2023 and the Biancocelesti want to extend it in order to confirm the project.
As reported by Il Messaggero (via TuttoMercatoWeb), there is a genuine chance that Sarri could leave Lazio at the end of the season, especially when remembering that his contract includes a clause that allows a foreign club to come calling.
Conceicao, who is contracted to Porto until 2024, is doing a great job this season and his team currently sit top of the Primeira Liga table, six points clear of second place Sporting with six games left.
Gattuso is currently out of work following his departure from Napoli in May 2021. He was announced to be joining Fiorentina later that month before the contract was mutually rescinded a little over a fortnight later.
