Lazio have decided to offer Patric a new contract following Maurizio Sarri’s insistence.
The 28-year-old Spanish defender has been one of the surprises of the season under the 63-year-old Italian coach, proving himself to be a reliable and tactically flexible option who can play as both a centre back and right back in the four-man defence.
As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Lazio will soon offer Patric a new contract as they look to follow up on Sarri’s requests to tie him down to a new deal. He has performed excellently in 2022 and the club are not keen to lose him on a free transfer in the summer.
Patric already rejected an offer from Valencia worth over €1 million and it’s likely that a new offer will be sent before the summer. Osasuna scouts were seen in the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday following his progress and Besiktas are also reportedly keen to pick him up.
