Maurizio Sarri met with president Claudio Lotito yesterday to discuss the transfer market and his future with Lazio.

The 63-year-old Italian coach was furious following the January transfer window, frustrated that no real reinforcements arrived. Only Jovane Cabral, a player he didn’t want, joined the club on loan and that deal already looks like a failure.

As detailed by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Sarri met and had dinner with Lotito yesterday in Formello, where they discussed the upcoming summer transfer window. The Lazio coach requested full involvement in the decisions and planning, not wanting a repeat of the January window.

Sporting director Igli Tare joined them for dinner, where they discussed targets for the summer. The Biancocelesti president tried to reassure Sarri, although he did reiterate the need to meet budgetary requirements and noted that a top player must be sold in order to fund the overhaul.

Sarri would like to continue and he’s very happy with Lazio, but he’s not willing to experience another transfer window like the one in January.
