Arsenal have sounded out the possible interest of Maurizio Sarri as he enters a defining period in his Lazio career.
The Biancocelesti coach met with president Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare earlier this week to discuss the upcoming summer transfer market and their project in Rome. Whilst Sarri was not able to receive all the guarantees he’d like, he was left feeling positive after the meeting.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), Arsenal are interested in picking up Sarri to possibly replace Mikel Arteta and they’ve sounded out his future with Lazio. The 63-year-old Italian coach has not yet put pen to paper on a contract renewal that would tie him to the club until 2025.
Positive Atmosphere Following Sarri’s Decisive Meeting With Lazio President Lotito
Sarri’s current contract expires in 2023 but there’s a clause that would allow him to be freed should a foreign club come calling, a clause that Lotito would remove with the renewal.
It’s hard to imagine Arsenal picking up Sarri in the summer as the progress under Arteta in North London has been obvious, with the team looking significantly stronger now than they did 12 months ago.
