Francesco Caputo and Dries Mertens top Lazio’s list of possible backup strikers ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Biancocelesti are currently focused on finishing out this season in the best possible way, with only seven games still remaining. Maurizio Sarri met with the club’s management earlier this week to discuss the summer transfer market strategy and both parties left feeling positive.
As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), one of Lazio’s most needed reinforcements in a new backup striker to replace Vedat Muriqi, who failed to convince Sarri in the first half of this season. The top two ideas for now are Caputo and Mertens.
Rumours suggest Sarri spoke to Mertens on the phone recently to discuss the idea and he was reportedly interested in the move.
