Johan Vasquez is the latest defender to be linked with a possible move to Lazio, although there is competition from both Fiorentina and Atalanta.
The 23-year-old Mexican defender joined Genoa in a deal worth €3.5 million from UNAM Pumas in January following a successful six-month loan spell. Johan Vasquez has impressed this season for the Rososblu, being incredibly consistent defensively and making a number of key tackles and blocks.
As reported by Kerynews (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lazio have added Vasquez to their list of possible options ahead of the summer transfer window, believing him to be a strong candidate. It won’t be easy to secure his signature, however, as both Fiorentina and Atalanta are also keen to pick him up.
The 23-year-old Mexican will certainly leave Genoa in the summer should they suffer relegation to Serie B, despite the fact that he’s contracted there until 2026.
Vasquez has made 24 Serie A appearances so far this season, for a total of 2011 minutes. In that time, he’s scored one goal
