Manuel Lazzari has become a key figure for Lazio in 2022 and now he’s aiming to return to the Italian national team.
The 28-year-old has been working incredibly hard in training in recent months, pushing himself to adapt from Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 to Maurizio Sarri’s 4-3-3 system as much as possible. Lazzari initially struggled to show his best under the new coach but he’s turned things around following the Christmas break.
As highlighted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazzari has improved a lot over the course of this season, both offensively and defensively, and he’s now become a complete full-back at Lazio under Sarri.
The former SPAL man was linked with a possible departure in the January transfer window but he’s managed to completely turn things around and now he’s a nailed-on starter in Rome.
Lazzari’s sights are now set on receiving another Azzurri call-up, wanting to prove his abilities as a true right-back in Roberto Mancini’s squad.
