Despite his excellent start with RCD Mallorca, Vedat Muriqi is still expected to make his Lazio return in the summer.
The 27-year-old Kosovan forward joined the Spanish side on a six-month loan deal with a €12 million buy option attached in the January transfer window, having failed to convince Maurizio Sarri in the first half of the season. Muriqi immediately re-found some form with Mallorca, finally getting things back on track.
As reported by Turkish and Kosovan media (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Muriqi will not be signed permanently by Mallorca in the summer, meaning that he’ll return to Lazio at the end of June.
The Kosovan striker will then look to find a new club and his former side Fenerbahce are keen to be reunited. It’s incredibly unlikely that he’ll work his way back into Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome.
The 27-year-old Muriqi, who is contracted to Lazio until 2025, has made 11 appearances so far this season for Mallorca, scoring three goals and providing one assist in that time.
