Bernardeschi Unlikely to Renew With Juventus as Lazio Consider Summer Swoop

Juventus have not made an attempt to keep a hold of Federico Bernardeschi and Lazio are keeping a close eye on the situation.

The 28-year-old Italian winger’s current deal expires with the Bianconeri at the end of this season and it seems as if his four-year association with the Old Lady is drawing to a muted close. Bernardeschi has often divided Juventus fans with his on-pitch inconsistency and many are likely to be happy that he’s departing.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Lazio are keeping a close eye on Bernardeschi’s situation at Juventus and they’re considering making a move for the Euro 2020 winner in the summer, after his contract expires in Turin.

Coach Maurizio Sarri knows the Italian winger well from their time together in Turin during the 2019-20 season and believes he’d be a good fit for the squad.

The 28-year-old Bernardeschi has made 28 appearances across all competitions so far this season, for a total of 1506 minutes. In that time, he’s scored one goal and provided six assists.
