Lazio could look to exchange veteran defender Francesco Acerbi for Juventus’ Daniele Rugani, a player Maurizio Sarri knows well.
The 34-year-old Italian centre back has decided to leave the Biancocelesti in the upcoming summer transfer window following the breakdown of relations between him and the fans, something that stemmed from a ‘shhh’ celebration he did in a win over Genoa before Christmas.
As reported by Il Messaggero and Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Acerbi will almost certainly leave Lazio in the summer, with two possible destinations on the horizon. The first of these is Inter, where Simone Inzaghi wants to be reunited with the veteran.
The other idea is Juventus; the possibility of an exchange deal involving Rugani has cropped up in recent days. Massimiliano Allegri appreciates Acerbi and would be happy to add the experienced defender to his squad, whilst Sarri would be glad to work with Rugani following their time together at Empoli.
