Lazio again failed to perform against Milan last night, highlighting the team’s struggles against top teams.
Lazio have consistently struggled in matches against the top six this season and the defeat to Milan yesterday is another example of this. Despite taking a 1-0 lead, Maurizio Sarri’s side couldn’t hold on to pick up even a point, leaving both the team and the fans exasperated after the final whistle.
As detailed by Corriere della Sera (via LazioNews24), Lazio have lost their last six consecutive clashes against teams ahead of them in the league table.
Having played nine of these matches so far, with the only game missing being the second meeting with Juventus, Lazio have lost seven. Their only two victories came early in the season when they picked up wins over Roma and Inter.
Since then, Lazio have looked strong against provincial sides and fellow European challengers, but not looked up to scratch against those fighting for Champions League points.
