Lazio Management Furious After Reviewing Tonali’s Late Winner for Milan

The Lazio management are furious at referee Marco Guida following Sandro Tonali’s late winner in Milan’s 2-1 victory on Sunday.

The 21-year-old Italian midfielder poked the ball into the back of the net in the 92nd minute after a defensive disaster class by a tired Biancocelesti side, securing a vital three points for the Rossoneri, who are still dreaming of picking up their first Scudetto in a decade.

As detailed by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), the atmosphere in Formello yesterday was particularly heated following Tonali’s late winner, with the Lazio management furious at Guida’s officiating.

President Claudio Lotito and sporting director Igli Tare reviewed the footage of the goal and noticed Tonali pushing Francesco Acerbi in the build-up, something that Guida failed to spot.

Tare had already expressed his anger at Guida in the tunnel at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday night following the final whistle and Maurizio Sarri felt the same, although the latter already knows that Lazio essentially have zero political pull.

  1. Well the players on the pitch didnt complain. Acerbi didnt complain. So seems to me they are just complaining for the sake of it. Even if someone at the time would have notised the push it wouldnt have been a freekick. Beacuse Acerbi was already on his way down and the push didnt make any differens in that respect. It just made him fall to the ground quicker
