Maurizio Sarri is still keen to bring Matias Vecino to Rome once his contract expires with Inter.

The 30-year-old Uruguayan midfielder was linked with a move to the Biancocelesti in the January transfer window, but a deal never materialised as the club were limited by financial restrictions. Sarri hasn’t forgotten about Vecino though and he’s keen to be reunited with the midfielder.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Sarri believes Vecino to be the perfect addition to his Lazio midfield, and great value considering that he’ll be available on a free transfer once his contract expires with Inter.

The Biancocelesti coach already knows the 30-year-old well from their single season together at Empoli, in the 2014-15 campaign.

Sarri wants a number of reinforcements to arrive in the summer and so understands that he’ll need to prioritise the biggest problem areas with investment, making a free transfer of this type attractive.
