Lazio Keeping a Close Eye on Caputo in Upcoming Sampdoria Clash

Lazio will have the chance to witness Francesco Caputo first hand in tonight’s Serie A clash against Sampdoria.

Biancocelesti coach Maurizio Sarri was keen to sign the 34-year-old Italian forward in the January transfer window as a backup for Ciro Immobile, but a move never materialised due to the fact that he’d already played for both Sassuolo and Sampdoria this season, meaning he wasn’t allowed to play for a third team.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Caputo has had a strong season with Sampdoria and Lazio are ready to keep a close eye on him in this evening’s match against the Ligurian side, a must win game in the race to secure 5th in the table.

The 34-year-old Caputo has scored 11 goals in 35 Serie A appearances this season, proving that he can still prove decisive in the topflight, and Lazio may rekindle their interest at the end of this season as they still search for a new backup forward.
