With only two Serie A games remaining, Lazio are incredibly close to securing mathematical qualification to the Europa League.

The Biancocelesti put in a decent shift in the Europa League this season, finishing second in their group, three points behind winners Galatasaray. They lost to Sergio Conceicao’s Porto in the play-off around, ending their European adventure. It’s clear that the team struggled to maintain fitness playing two games a week, something Maurizio Sarri often highlighted.

As highlighted by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Lazio only need to pick up three more points to secure Europa League qualification, meaning they can afford to lose one of their remaining two matches, assuming they win the other. These two remaining matches are against Juventus and Hellas Verona

Picking up at least three points would guarantee Lazio a 6th place finish in the league, enough to take part in the Europa League. They currently sit three points ahead of Roma, Fiorentina and Atalanta, who are all tied on 59 points.
