Luiz Felipe a Step Away From Joining Real Betis on a Free Transfer

Luiz Felipe is now on the verge of joining La Liga side Real Betis on a free transfer once his contract expires with Lazio.

The 25-year-old Brazilian centre back has started to fall out of favour with coach Maurizio Sarri recently, with the Italian coach preferring to deploy Patric in his place alongside Francesco Acerbi. It’s been clear for a while now that Luiz Felipe will not sign a renewal in Rome and he’s starting to be phased out of the squad.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Real Betis are now set to sign the paperwork that will sign Luiz Felipe once his contract expires with Lazio next month. They’ll also be picking up Fluminense winger Luiz Henrique. Both deals have reportedly been verbally agreed for months now.

The 25-year-old Brazilian defender signed for Lazio in August 2016 from Ituano in a deal worth around €750,000. After a year on loan with Salernitana, he quickly became a regular feature in Rome, proving himself a talented centre back with a lot of potential.
