Luka Romero Fundamental in Lotito & Sarri’s Lazio Project

Luka Romero was a key point of discussion during Maurizio Sarri’s contract renewal talks with Claudio Lotito.

The 17-year-old Argentinian talent joined the Biancocelesti last summer from RCD Mallorca on a free transfer, with the Roman club only paying €200,000 in compensation. This has proven to be an absolute bargain and he is now one of the most exciting prospects in Europe.

As reported by Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), during the recent contract talks between Sarri and Lotito, Luka Romero was brought up; the Lazio president considers him a real gem and he wants to see the teenager given more playing time.

Sarri, who has repeatedly sung the 17-year-old’s praises, believes that he don’t have the physique yet for Serie A and he’s afraid of burning out the Argentinian before he’s ready.

Luka Romero could make an appearance in Lazio’s next game against Juventus. Star striker Ciro Immobile may be forced to miss the game, and if he does then Felipe Anderson would be deployed as a false nine, leaving a space on the right wing.
