Patric has exploded this season under Maurizio Sarri and he’s set to sign a new Lazio contract soon.
The 29-year-old Spanish defender initially seemed destined to leave the club next month after the expiry of his contract, but he’s managed to turn things around this campaign under the 63-year-old Italian coach, who has placed an increasing amount of trust in the former Barcelona man.
As reported by Radiosei (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Sarri has been insistent that Patric be offered a new deal and a meeting is planned to try and close things out. The offer of around €1m million net per season plus add-ons is convincing enough and now the parties need to decide on the length of the deal.
Lazio are hoping to tie Patric down to a new deal soon as they’re aware of Valencia’s serious interest, and things could be fully completed within the next 10 days or so.
