Lazio sporting director Igli Tare was handed a €5000 fine following the 2-0 win over Sampdoria on Saturday.
The 48-year-old Albanian sporting director is a divisive figure among Biancocelesti fans, with some praising him for incredible deals like Sergej Milinkovic-Savic or Luis Alberto, whilst others point to his major flops, like Vedat Muriqi or Denis Vavro.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Tare was given a €5000 fine for approaching and criticising referee Davide Massa outside the changing rooms at the end of the first half of Lazio’s 2-0 win over Sampdoria on the weekend.
The Lazio sporting director was unhappy with the decisions made and felt the need to complain, but now he’ll be forced to pay a fine for his behaviour.
Tare has been the club’s sporting director since 2008 and his current contract expires next year in 2023. It seems likely that he’ll be offered a renewal, although it’s impossible to tell at this stage, considering his turbulent relationship with president Claudio Lotito.
