Immobile’s Season May Already Be Over Due to Injury

Ciro Immobile will certainly miss out on tonight’s match against Juventus and may even be sidelined for the final game of the season.

The 32-year-old Italian striker suffered an ankle sprain in the first half of the Biancocelesti’s 2-0 win over Sampdoria on 7th May, but he didn’t come off the pitch, playing the full 90 minutes. This decision has clearly come back to bite both Lazio and Immobile as he’s now been ruled out of tonight’s match against Juventus.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Immobile’s season may have actually ended following that 2-0 win over Sampdoria. The Lazio star is suffering from a fractured instep and the club’s doctors are warning him to be incredibly cautious.

Therefore, there’s a significant chance that Immobile will not return in time for the final game of the season against Hellas Verona on 22nd May.

The 32-year-old Immobile is on the hunt for his fourth Capocannoniere title and he currently sits four goals ahead of second place Dusan Vlahovic.
