Lazio are on the verge of completing a deal for Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Marcos Antonio.

The 21-year-old Brazilian midfielder was having a good season in Ukraine until the ongoing Russian invasion, which forced football and daily life in the country to come to a complete standstill. FIFA’s new rules make transfers away from Ukrainian clubs significantly simpler as a result of the invasion.

Lazio Open Talks With Shakhtar Midfielder Marcos Antonio

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lazio are close to completing a deal for Marcos Antonio, ready to pay Shakhtar €8 million plus €2 million in add-ons. The deal is expected to be completed soon and the 21-year-old will become the Roman club’s first summer signing.

The 21-year-old Brazilian is a talented and technical midfielder who can play in a number of roles in the centre of the pitch, being most comfortable just in front of the defence. He scored three goals and provided one assist in 28 appearances across all competitions this season.
