Lazio and Roma are both keen to sign Florian Grillitsch on a free transfer this summer.
The 26-year-old Austrian will be leaving Hoffenheim after five years on a free transfer next month and he’s ready for a breath of fresh air, making him open to the switch to Serie A. Grillitsch is a tactically flexible and reliable player who can play as a defender, defensive midfielder or central midfielder.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Kicker), both Lazio and Roma are now in talks with Grillitsch as they work to close out a deal ahead of the summer transfer window. He’s reportedly considered a top target of coach Maurizio Sarri, who doesn’t want to lose him to their rivals.
Grillitsch’s tactical flexibility means that he could be used as a regista playing front of the back four or as an emergency centre back. He’s been sidelined since the start of April due to a muscle injury.
