Carnesecchi Very Keen to Sign For Sarri’s Lazio

Marco Carnesecchi has reportedly identified Lazio as his preferred destination ahead of a summer transfer.

The 21-year-old Italian goalkeeper had an incredible season on loan with Cremonese, being an instrumental part of their their promotion winning campaign. Carnesecchi will return to Atalanta after his loan spell and Lazio are now in talks regarding a possible deal.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Carnesecchi is incredibly keen to join Lazio and he’d prefer to join Maurizio Sarri’s side ahead of anyone else. He’d be given a starting spot in Rome, filling the void left behind following Thomas Strakosha’s departure.

Atalanta want €15 million and Lazio are now in talks regarding a deal; negotiations will likely be tough as the Roman club don’t want to pay over €10 million plus add-ons, but that could change due to the importance of the deal.

Carnesecchi conceded 38 goals and kept nine clean sheets in 36 Serie B appearances this season for Cremonese.

Apollo’s thoughts:

Carnesecchi is my top option to replace Strakosha as the new Lazio number one; he proved his quality this season with Cremonese and seems like the perfect addition to a  squad in transition. €15 million seems like a bargain considering his potential, so it would be frustrating if Lazio ultimately miss out on the 21-year-old this summer.
