Manchester United Submit Concrete Offer for Milinkovic-Savic

Manchester United have offered €55 million for Lazio star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The 27-year-old Serbian midfielder seems destined to leave this summer as the Biancocelesti look to generate some funds in preparation of a squad overhaul. Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are also incredibly keen on Milinkovic-Savic, setting up an exciting summer for the Lazio star.

As reported by La Repubblica (via LazioNews24), Milinkovic-Savic’s agent Mateja Kezman met Claudio Lotito at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday as Lazio took on Hellas Verona. During the meeting, he handed over a €55 million offer from Manchester United.

The offer is far from Lotito’s €80 million valuation and so he turned down the offer. The two parties remain in constant contact, however, and Kezman is confident that an offer of €65-70 million would prove convincing enough. More meetings will take place over the coming weeks.

The 27-year-old Milinkovic-Savic shone this season under coach Maurizio Sarri, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists in 37 Serie A appearances.

Apollo’s Thoughts

Considering that Lotito reportedly turned down offers of over €100 million for Milinkovic-Savic in recent years, it’s hard to imagine him accepting anything less than €60-65 million this summer for the Serbian star.

Lotito knows that Sarri is expecting at least five to six new reinforcements and with funds a little tight due to the liquidity index, every million counts as Lazio work to cash in on Milinkovic-Savic. The Serbian’s performances over the last few years also justify a €60-65 million as he’s clearly one of the best midfielders in Europe.
