Destiny Udogie is set for a busy summer as Lazio, Juventus and Inter all express their interest in him.
The 19-year-old Italian left back had a great season with Udinese under Gabriele Cioffi, scoring five goals and providing three assists in 35 Serie A appearances, and he seems destined for big things in his career, looking incredibly talented.
As reported by La Repubblica (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Udogie has absolutely bewitched coach Maurizio Sarri, who is incredibly keen for Lazio to sign the teenager this summer. A deal wouldn’t be easy to pull off, however, as Juventus and Inter are also both interested.
The former are considering Udogie as a possible replacement for Luca Pellegrini or Alex Sandro, whilst the latter see him as a possible option should Ivan Perisic depart this summer. Lazio are also keen to add a new left back to their squad, with Elseid Hysaj failing to shine last campaign.
Whilst this would be an incredible deal, I find it hard to believe that Lazio could somehow beat out both Juventus and Inter for Udogie; whilst the idea of more consistent minutes in Rome may prove tempting, it’s hard to turn down Champions League football, especially with two of Italy’s biggest clubs.
