Lazio President Lotito Clear on Futures of Milinkovic-Savic, Acerbi & Sarri

Lazio president Claudio Lotito did not mince his words when discussing the future of star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who is heavily wanted by both PSG and Manchester United.

The Biancocelesti are preparing for an exciting summer transfer window, with a squad overhaul seemingly on the horizon as Maurizio Sarri looks for a more competitive outing next campaign. One player who has constantly been discussed is Milinkovic-Savic, who seems destined for a high profile move away this summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), Lotito first discussed his relationship with coach Sarri.

The relationship between Sarri and myself has always been strong, of mutual esteem. I think he’s a great professional, he lives exclusively for football, from what he told me he feels good at Lazio, he says it’s a place where you can play football.

Will he be our coach next year? If the contracts are valid then it should be so.

The Lazio president looked ahead to the upcoming summer transfer window.

Last summer we bought seven players in total, including the much-reviled Kamenovic, who is turning out to be someone who can stay at Lazio.

We have to face the second step with certain figures, players and roles that are fundamental to reinforce the team.

Lotito spoke about star midfielder Milinkovic-Savic, who reportedly won’t be sold for less than €100 million. PSG and Manchester United are the frontrunners in the race to secure his signature.

The object of everyone’s desire. A price exists when one is put on the market. I didn’t put him there, so there is no price.

The moment he comes to ask us, or rather there should be an offer that satisfies him from a professional point of view, talking about the top five teams in the world, and also economically and that at the same time contemplates Lazio’s needs, I certainly won’t start crusading against Milinkovic because he doesn’t deserve it.

Finally, Lotito spoke about defender Francesco Acerbi, who seems destined to depart this summer after suffering a complete relationship breakdown with the fans.

He has a contract with Lazio, he is a great player in his role. Everything that will come later in terms of the market, needs, expectations or offers from the player and other clubs, we will evaluate.
