FC Copenhagen are ready to permanently Lazio loanee Denis Vavro following his return in January.
The 26-year-old Slovakian centre back re-joined the Danish outfit back in the winter transfer window after failing to break into Maurizio Sarri’s squad in Rome. Vavro has immediately found success with Copenhagen and now they’re ready to make his return permanent.
As reported by Corriere dello Sport (via LazioNews24), Copenhagen are edging closer to an agreement with Lazio for a permanent transfer for Vavro. The deal is set to be reached on the basis of around €5 million, a little lower than the €7 million agreed back in January.
In the end Lazio will manage to recoup most of the €10 million invested into the 26-year-old Slovakian back in the summer of 2019, a deal which sporting director Igli Tare will be hoping to quickly forget.
Vavro made 21 appearances for Lazio in his two-and-a-half years in Rome, for a total of 878 minutes. In that time he failed to make a good impression and picked up one red card.
Apollo’s Thoughts
Easily one of Tare’s biggest flops in recent memory. Vavro never looked the part in Rome and it’s no surprise that both Simone Inzaghi and Maurizio Sarri completely isolated him in Formello. What a relief that Copenhagen are willing to pay to take him back.
